With rains washing out play on Thursday, the Bob Hope Classic, hosted by Arnold Palmer, will have a Monday finish with Bubba Watson and rookie Alex Prugh tied for the lead at 23-under par through four rounds.
Watson held a two shot lead heading into his final hole but, a double-bogey on the 18th at the Nicklaus Course at PGA WEST dropped him into a tie with Prugh. Purgh had his chance to hold the lead heading into the final round but missed a three-foot par putt on his final hole at the SilverRock Resort to finish at 23-under par.
On the day, Watson started with three pars before going birdie-bogey on the fourth and fifth holes. He then rolled five birdies over the next 11 holes before dropping the double-bogey on 18.
Starting on the 10th hole, Prugh was one-under par through nine holes. After a bogey on the first hole, he made birdies on three of the next four holes before his bogey on the final hole.
With 16 players within five shots of the lead, Watson and Prugh lead a tight leaderboard into Monday’s final round at the Palmer Private Course at PGA WEST. Tim Clark and Bill Haas are a shot back in third place after rounds of 66 on SilverRock and Nicklaus Coures, respectively. Joe Ogilvy double-bogeyed the 17th hole at La Quinta Country Club to fall from first to fifth place at 21-under par. Tied for sixth place are Mike Weir, Matt Kuchar, Kevin Streelman and Martin Flores. Ryan Moore is in 10th place at 19-under par.
