The PGA TOUR is in Florida for the final tournament of the 2009 season – the Children’s Miracle Network Classic at Disney’s Magnolia and Palm courses. Davis Love III earned his 20th TOUR victory, earning a lifetime exemption on the PGA TOUR, with a final round 64 to beat Tommy Gainey by one shot.
Love comes into his title defense looking for his first victory of 2009. He will have to watch for Zach Johnson, Steve Marino and Brian Gay – who are all looking to finish off great seasons with a win. Also, the new TOUR sensation – Rickie Fowler – looks to play his way into a full exemption with a top 10 finish.
Fowler, who is playing in his third event as a professional (in part because the Viking Classic was canceled), has made the Fall Series a coming out party. He finished tied for seventh place at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and tied for second at the Frys.com Open.
