Troy Matteson and Chad Campbell are tied for the lead at Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. The pair shot 67 and 62, respectively, on the TPC Summerlin course to lead Matt Kuchar, Ryan Moore, Martin Laird and Bob Heintz by one shot.
Matteson, who shared the lead at the start of the round, birdied the 10th hole, his first of the day. He made bogeys on the 11th and 14th holes with a birdie on the 12th hole to finish the first nine at even-par. Matteson carded four birdies on the next nine, at the second, fifth, seventh and ninth holes, to regain a share of the lead.
Campbell started the day tied for 26th place. He started on the 10th hole with a birdie. After pars on the 11th and 12th holes, Campbell made birdies on four of the next five holes. After the turn, he made birdies on the third and sixth holes before finishing the day with an eagle on the par-5, ninth hole.
Kuchar, Moore, Laird and Heintz are tied for third place at 12-under par. Rickie Fowler shot 64 in the second round to move up from 26th into a tie for seventh place at 11-under par with Jim Furyk, Scott Piercy and first round co-leader Tom Pernice, Jr.
