Woods, Wilson tied at BMW Championship

bmw-champ-logoTiger Woods and Mark Wilson are tied for the lead at the PGA TOUR Playoffs BMW Championship at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club.

Woods, who last won at Cog Hill in 2008, followed an opening round 68 with a 67 in the second round.  After a bogey on the first hole, Woods didn’t make another.  He finished the front nine with three straight birdies.  He added two more on the back side at the 11th and 17th holes.

Wilson, an Illinois native who currently is 41st in the FedEx Cup points standings, is looking to crack the top 30 and play in The TOUR Championship, the final playoff event.  His bogey-free 66 started on the back nine, where he made birdies on the 11th and 15th holes.  After the turn, Wilson birdied the second hole before finishing with birdies on the seventh and ninth holes.

First round leader Rory Sabbatini shot 70 in the second round and is tied with Padraig Harrington, Bo Van Pelt and Marc Leishman for third place at six-under par, one shot behind Woods and Wilson.  Bubba Watson, who is also trying to move up from 59th place in the playoff standings, shot 68 in the second round to head into the weekend in seventh place.  Sean O’Hair, Zach Johnson, Anthony Kim and John Rollins are tied for eighth place at four-under par.
