Nathan Green made par on the second sudden death playoff hole to outlast Retief Goosen for his first PGA TOUR victory at the RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club.
Green played the final round bogey-free, carding four birdies. Goosen shot 69 and moved into a tie with Green with an eagle on the final hole. In the playoff, Goosen missed a 6-foot birdie putt to win on the first playoff hole, while Green saved par after his approach shot hit the cart path landing near the scorers table. Green made par on the second playoff hole as Goosen let his 8-foot par putt slide right.
Anthony Kim and Jason Dufner, who shared the lead with Goosen after completing the third round Monday morning, tied for third place at 14-under par, four shots back. Jerry Kelly, Lee Janzen and Brandt Snedeker tied for fifth place. Canadian’s Stephen Ames and Chris Baryla tied for eighth place at 12-under par with six other players. Also in eighth place were Mark Calcavecchia, Scott McCarron, Michael Letzig, Y. E. Yang, Bob Estes and Scott Verplank.
