The LPGA Tour is off this week. Coming next week is one of the more popular stops – the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Virginia. This year’s event will surely give players and fans cause to look back at the career of Annika Sorenstam, who is the defending champion. This was her last LPGA victory, last of 72 career wins, as she stepped away from playing on Tour at the end of the 2008 season.
Annika is one of the rare players that is known by only her first name. Like Tiger Woods, Annika changed the way the game was played. She was a true professional that just wanted to be the best and win every week. She is missed on Tour but her legacy lives on in Lorena Ochoa, Paula Creamer and all the other young golfers that wanted to be that good.
