Sweet 20: Love gets win at Children’s Miracle Network Classic

Davis Love III shot a final round 64 to win the Children’s Miracle Network Classic for his 20th career PGA Tour victory.

Love didn’t make a bogey on his way to victory.  He went out with three birdies and, after the turn, birdied five of the first seven holes on the back nine.  He finished one shot ahead of rookie Tommy Gainey, who also shot 64 in the final round for a solo second place finish.

Scott Verplank and Steve Marino, who shared the leading at the start of the day, tied for third place after both shot 71.  Joe Durant finished fifth after shooting 65 in the final round.

Troy Matteson, Kevin Streelman and Scott Sterling tied for sixth place, seven shots back of Love.  Michael Allen finished ninth and six players tied for 10th place, including Chris Stroud, Tim Petrovic and Cameron Beckman.
