Stanford on top in Mexico at Lorena Ochoa Invitational
Angela Stanford shot a second round 66 to pull two shots ahead of Yani Tseng at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Stanford followed up her opening round of 68 with a one bogey, seven birdie effort. She broke a log jam at the top after eight players shot 68 in the opening round. Tseng matched her round one score with 68 in the second round, with five birdies and one bogey on the day.
They lead Meena Lee, who shot back-to-back 69s to sit in third place four shots back. Karen Stupples was one-under in the second round and is a shot ahead of six players tied for fifth place. Annika Sorenstam and Juli Inkster lead that group at four-under after two days.
Tournament host Lorena Ochoa is at even-par after rounds of 73 and 71 to open the inaugural event.
