Ready to defend her title, Momoko Ueda is having a successful rookie season on the LPGA after being a competeing on the LPGA of Japan for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. The field this week consists of two of Japan’s best in Ueda and third-year LPGA pro Ai Miyazato. Last week’s winner, Candie Kung, is in the field as is RICOH Women’s British Open champion Ji Yai Shin.
Also in the field of 78 players, the LPGA’s top rookie Yani Tseng, Karrie Webb, Mi Hyun Kim, Louise Friberg, Kristy McPherson and Morgan Pressel.
