Hull leads ADT Championship
Katherine Hull leads the ADT Championship after the first round shooting a four-under par, 68, at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida. The tournament cuts the field in half after two rounds, and then in half after 54-holes, with a playoff to break up ties in both cases.
Hull, who won the CN Canadian Women’s Open for her first LPGA Tour victory, made birdies on the second and fifth holes. After a bogey on the 10th, she made four birdies and a bogey over the final eight holes. She leads In-Kyung Kim and Ji-Yai Shin by a shot.
Kim, who finished tied for second in ADT points for the second half of the season, made bogeys on the first and 18th holes, with five birdies in between. Korean LPGA player Shin, who won the RICOH Women’s British Open, made three birdies on the front nine and traded bogey for birdie twice on the back.
Tied for fourth place are rookie Na Yeon Choi, Eun-Hee Ji and Ji Young Oh, who all shot two-under par. Paula Creamer, Christina Kim and Karen Stupples are tied for seventh place at one-under par.
Lorena Ochoa shot 75, three-over par, and Annika Sorenstam was one better with a round of 74.
