Karen Stupples shot 67 in the second round to take a two shot lead heading into the final round of the Grand China Air LPGA in Hainan Island, China.
Stupples, after a par on the first hole, made three straight birdies to start the round. After the turn, she birdied three of four holes, ending the day with eight total birdies to three bogeys. She leads Laura Diaz, who shot 73 in the second round. Diaz was three under par after a bogey on the second hole was followed by birdies on six, nine, 10 and 11. But, she finished with bogeys on four of the final five holes.
Three back of the lead, rookie Louise Friberg shot a bogey-free 69 in the third round, carding birdies on the eighth, 11th and 18th holes. Christina Kim, Shi Hyun Ahn and Candie Kung are tied for fourth place at six-under par. Eight players are tied for seventh place, five shots back of Stupples, including Yani Tseng, Juli Inkster and Helen Alfredsson.
