Stroud leads by two at Valero Texas Open

Chris Stroud took a two-stroke lead after shooting a six-under par, 64, at the Valero Texas Open at La Cantera Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.

Stroud, who has fought injuries this season, is a Texas native and is looking to improve his improve his rank on the money list with his first PGA Tour victory.  He currently is 209 on the money list, with the top 125 earning their card for the 2009 season.

Defending champion Justin Leonard, also a Texas native, shot 69 to make the cut for the weekend and sits nine shots back of Stroud.

Tim Herron, Paul Goydos and Tim Petrovic are tied for second place at eight-under par.  Nine players are tied for fifth place at seven-under par, including Rory Sabbatini.
