Ryder Cup: Mickelson’s chance for redemption?

With Tiger Woods out for the season after the U. S. Open, many thought Phil Mickelson would take over the golfing world and the final two majors of the season.  That didn’t happen as Mickelson all but disappeared in the majors and the FedEx Cup playoff series. The top ranked player has been a non-factor.

Now, as the European and American teams converge on Valhalla Country Club for the Ryder Cup, is this Phil’s time for redemption?

Undoubtedly, yes.

If Mickelson can lead the American team to victory, their first since 2002, he would erase the poor finish to the 2008 season.  It’s Mickelson’s time but which Phil will show up?
