Lorena Ochoa defends another title at this week’s CN Canadian Women’s Open at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club and is looking for her seventh victory on the season.
Boasting a stellar field, the Canadian national championship will welcome 20 of the top 25 of the world’s best, including Annika Sorenstam, Paula Creamer and Cristie Kerr, who won this event in 2006.
The Hunt Club was founded in 1908 but didn’t add a golf course until 1920. Willie Park Jr. was the original designer building a traditional style track that officially opened for play in 1924. The club has played host to top level championships, including the Canadian Open (1932), the Americas Cup (1960) and the du Maurier Ltd. Classic in 1994.
