Singh, Mickelson, Westwood share lead at WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
Aug 2nd, 2008 | By TeeOff | Category: Golf, News, PGAVijay Singh, Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood share the lead at the World Golf Championship-Bridgeston Invitational after three rounds of play. The three are at eight-under par for the tournament and hold a shot lead over Stuart Appleby.
Singh (69) struggled with the putter but made five birdies to four bogeys. Mickelson was even-par after 13 holes before making three straight birdies (14, 15, 16) before dropping into the tie with a bogey on the 18th hole. Westwood had the best round (67) starting with three straight birdies and carding five on the day to two bogeys.
Appleby shot a 67 to jump up from seventh place. He is two shots better than Retief Goosen, who shot 68 in the third round. Five players are at four-under par, including Darren Clarke who shot a 65 to move up from 35th place.
