Korea’s Ji-Yai Shin shot a final round 66 to take the RICOH Women’s British Open title by three shots.

Shin, who plays full time on the Korean LPGA Tour, was bogey-free on the day and took over the lead with a birdie at the ninth hole.  She opened up a three shot lead after draining a 45-foot birdie putt on the 13th hole and would never look back.

Shin bested rookie Yani Tseng, who finished in second after shooting 66 in the final round.  Tseng won the McDonald’s LPGA Championship earlier this year and, along with Inbee Park’s win at the U. S. Open, gives Tour dominance to the Aisian players.

Tied for third were third round leader Yuri Fudoh and Eun-Hee Ji.  Ai Miyazato finished fifth and Cristie Kerr was sixth.  Defending champion Lorena Ochoa finished tied for seventh with Momoko Ueda.  Paula Creamer tied for ninth with Natalie Gulbis, Karrie Webb, In-Kyung Kim and In-Kyung Kim.

Playing in her final major championship, Annika Sorenstam closed with a 68 in the final round for a 24th place finish.
