Fudoh up one at Women’s British Open

Yuri Fudoh will go into the final round of the RICOH Women’s British Open with a one shot edge over Ji-Yai Shin. 

Fudoh shot a 69 in the third round after carding five birdies to two bogeys in the third round.  Shin, who co-lead after two rounds, shot a 70 falling back of Fudoh after making a bogey on the final hole. 

The top 12 players, including world number one Lorena Ochoa, are within five strokes of the lead.  Ai Miyazato is in third at 11-under par for the tournament after shooting 68 in the third round.  Cristie Kerr and Juli Inkster are tied for fourth place at 10-under par. 

Four players, including Natalie Gulbis and Yani Tseng, are tied for sixth place, four shots back of leader Fudoh.  Tied for 10th with defending champ Ochoa are Ma Yeon Choi and Momoko Ueda.

Karrie Webb is at six-under for the tournament with Paula Creamer and Suzann Pettersen behind her at five-under.  Annika Sorenstam shot a two-under par 70, tied for 38th, and will not contend in her last major championship.
