Angela Park shot 68 in the second round to grab a one-shot lead heading into the weekend of the Evian Masters. She is ahead of two-time champion Helen Alfredsson (1994, 1998), who shot 63 in the second round.
Park, the 2007 Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year, was bogey-free for the second straight round as she carded four birdies on the day. Alfredsson also didn’t make a bogey in the second round as she carded nine birdies and tied the tournament scoring record.
A group of five golfers are tied for third place, including Cristie Kerr and Juli Inkster. Lorena Ochoa dropped to a tie for eighth after a one-over par, 73, in the second round.
Paula Creamer shot 69 on day two to move up to a tie for 11th place and Annika Sorenstam moved up to a tie for 16th after shooting 69. Defending champion Natalie Gulbis shot 71, one-under par, and is tied for 16th place.
