Greg Kraft, a veteran since 1986, won the inaugural Puerto Rico Open held at the Trump International Golf Club. It is his first official PGA Tour win of his career. He won an unofficial even – the Deposit Guaranty Classic – in 1993.
This season, Kraft has played in three events on the PGA Tour, making the cut in all. He finished in a tie for 48th at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. At the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico, he finished in a tie for 19th. He has also played two events on the Nationwide Tour, missing the cut in both events.
In 2007, Kraft finished sixth at the Wyndham Championship, thanks to a final round 66. He had three top-25 finishes last season in five starts. The other two were a tie for 18th at the John Deere Classic and a tie for 25th at the Reno-Tahoe Open. Kraft also spent time on the Nationwide Tour in 2007. There, in 16 starts, Kraft made seven cuts finishing in the top-25 twice.
With the victory, Kraft moves up 329 spots to 253 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
